HearHereHartford (HHH) Scholarship Opportunity

The Annual HHH Scholarship Application window is now open! Hear Here Hartford will award two $1,000 scholarship to students with hearing loss who exhibit leadership and self-advocacy in their communities and who will be attending college or graduate school this fall. The applications are now available on the Hear Here Hartford website (hearherehartford.org). Applicants begin their application on the site and once the initial information is submitted, they will receive an email prompting them to respond by attaching their essay and resume. The deadline for this application is May 30, 2025 and winners will be notified on or before June 11, 2025.

Scholarship recipients must be in attendance at the 2025 Walk4Hearing on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 10am at the Dunkin Yard Goats Stadium, 1214 Main Street in Hartford.

Career Mentorship Hour with Voya Financial

What is “Career Mentorship Hour with Voya Financial”?

  • Voya Financial, a leading health, wealth and investment company is proud to partner with UConn’s Beyond Access program and Center of Students with Disabilities. This initiative provides students with an opportunity to connect with a Voya Ambassador biweekly to ask career related questions, including resume review, interview tips, internship opportunities, and more.

 When does Career Mentorship Hour begin?

  • The program launches on February 26th and will be held biweekly from 2-3pm for the remainder of the semester.

Army Civilian – Paid Federal Intern Program

BACKGROUND:

The Student Intern Program provides college students an exciting opportunity to explore federal employment.  The program attracts talented college students from across the country and immerses them in the values-based culture and important work of Army Civilians.  Unlike Soldiers, Army Civilians are federal employees who are not required to enlist, wear a uniform, or complete military training.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. U.S. Citizen
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance (if required)
  3. Current student enrolled in a full-time degree program

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The Student Intern Program is aimed at current college students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.  These students are given the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in federal employment and are exposed to the diverse career paths and opportunities within the Army Civilian workforce.

Full-time Hours: Interns work full-time, typically 40 hours per week for up to 12 weeks over the summer.  They earn $15.00-$25.13 per hour depending on qualifications, location, and position.

Tuition Assistance:  Interns in STEM and difficult-to-fill positions may also receive up to $10,000 per academic year as tuition assistance.

Hiring Bonuses:  Some difficult-to-fill positions may also pay a hiring bonus of $1,000 or more.
